Rappelling in North Carolina
If climbing up a mountain isn't for you try rappelling down. This is a fun and exhilarating outdoor adventure. No matter which rappelling experience you choose to attend, you will be in a group of uplifting and supportive women cheering you on as you go. Our motto is we don't judge, and you are in a safe space.
Women's Empowerment Adventures prides ourselves on making you feel comfortable before you even show up for one of our experiences. Once you sign up for an adventure, we start a group chat so you can meet your adventure trip leader, ask questions, and get to know other women that are joining you. The group chat is also a great way to share photos and reconnect with friends after the experience is complete. |

About:
Beginners Rappelling is great for all levels including those who haven't been before. You will first learn how to rappel before you start. This gets you comfortable with your gear and have a full understanding of how it works so you know you are safe. We walk you through every step of the way and make sure you’re completely comfortable before you begin going down the mountain. Our rappelling experiences take place at Pilot Mountain and Crowders Mountain. We partner with Carolina Adventure guides for our rappelling and rock climbing adventures. With over 14 years of experience, Carolina Adventure guides are truly knowledgeable and patient so you can take your time and enjoy the views from all around. Difficulty: This trip is for someone that has good cardio and can go up few flights of stairs with ease. Once you rappel down you must walk back to the top and it can be quite tiresome on your legs as you will do this at least three times. We start out on a beginner rappel of 45ft. We then work up to one of our free fall hanging rappels that you float down and your legs aren't on the side of the mountain. |
Details:
You will meet at the upper parking lot at Pilot Mountain. For Crowders Mountain, the meeting spot is at Linewood Road access. Please be sure to arrive early to get a parking spot. All the gear is included for your trip. You are responsible for your own lunch, snacks and drinks. You will want to wear shoes that have laces to keep your shoes on tight. It's best to wear tighter fitting clothing. The weight limit is up to 300lbs. This experience has 7 participants plus your adventure trip leader. You will wear masks upon arrival, and when you can't socially distance. The most important part of all this is to have an amazing experience and the opportunity to bond with likeminded women. There is nothing better than walking away feeling accomplished, inspired, and ready to take on life’s next big challenge. |
